The Blue t - Anti-Bullying and Harassment Policy
At the Blue t, we are committed to maintaining a respectful and inclusive work environment where all employees, clients, partners, and visitors feel safe, valued, and protected from any form of bullying and harassment. Bullying and harassment in any form are strictly prohibited, and we expect all individuals associated with our company to adhere to this policy.
Definition of Bullying and Harassment
Bullying
Bullying refers to any deliberate, repeated, and hurtful behaviour aimed at intimidating, degrading, or harming another person emotionally, psychologically, or physically. It includes, but is not limited to:
Verbal Bullying: Name-calling, offensive language, mocking, or ridiculing someone.
Physical Bullying: Hitting, pushing, tripping, or any form of physical harm.
Cyberbullying: Using electronic communication channels to harass, threaten, or intimidate others.
Social Bullying: Excluding or isolating individuals, spreading rumours, or engaging in other manipulative behaviours.
Harassment
Harassment refers to any unwelcome conduct, whether verbal, non-verbal, physical, or visual, based on a person’s protected characteristic, such as race, colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or any other legally protected status. It includes, but is not limited to:
Offensive or derogatory comments or jokes.
Unwanted physical contact or advances.
Displaying or distributing offensive materials.
Persistent, unwanted communication or attention.
Sexual Harassment
Sexual Harassment refers to conduct which is unwanted and is of a sexual nature. It is intended to, or has the effect of, violating someone’s dignity or creating an offensive, hostile, or intimidating environment for them. It includes, but is not limited to:
1. Staring, inappropriate body language, deliberate physical or verbal behaviours.
2. Sexually explicit messages, innuendos, or sexist jokes.
3. Brushing past someone or talking about your sex life.
Responsibilities
1. Management’s Responsibility
Demonstrate zero tolerance for bullying and harassment.
Establish and enforce this anti-bullying and harassment policy.
Promote awareness, prevention, and intervention strategies.
Investigate reported incidents promptly and impartially.
Take appropriate disciplinary action when necessary.
2. Employees’ Responsibility
Treat all individuals with respect, dignity, and fairness.
Refrain from engaging in any form of bullying or harassment.
Report any observed or experienced incidents promptly.
Cooperate fully with any investigation into alleged incidents.
Support colleagues who may be targets of bullying or harassment.
Reporting Procedure
If you witness or experience bullying or harassment, promptly report the incident to your immediate supervisor or any member of the management team.
Provide a detailed account of the incident, including dates, times, locations, individuals involved, and any supporting evidence or witnesses, if applicable.
The management team will treat all reports confidentially, and appropriate action will be taken to address the issue promptly and fairly.
Investigation and Consequences
The management team will conduct a thorough investigation into any reported incidents of bullying or harassment. This may involve interviewing relevant parties, collecting evidence, and consulting appropriate resources as necessary.
Disciplinary action commensurate with the severity of the offence will be taken against individuals found responsible for bullying or harassment. Consequences may include verbal or written warnings, suspension, termination of employment, or legal action, if applicable.
Protection Against Retaliation
Retaliation against any individual who reports an incident of bullying or harassment in good faith or participates in an investigation is strictly prohibited. Any acts of retaliation will be subject to disciplinary action.
Education and Awareness
The Blue t is committed to providing regular training and resources to educate employees about the detrimental effects of bullying and harassment, the importance of respectful conduct, and the procedures for reporting incidents.
Review and Updates
This anti-bullying and harassment policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. Any updates or modifications to the policy will be communicated to all employees.
